Anxiety treatment
Support for teens and adults in Virginia
Sounds familiar?
You seem to worry about things more than other people
The thoughts racing in through your head make it hard to focus or be present with others
You have trouble sleeping, stay awake late, wake up in the middle of the night, and can't go back to sleep
You endlessly replay events of the day in your head
You avoid anything that can trigger anxiety- trips, people, events
You can’t seem to shake off that creepy-crawling feeling in your body
Worry, stress, perfectionism, and people-pleasing are just some of the ways that anxiety manifests itself. Anxiety is exhausting and sometimes debilitating problem that affects many. Fortunately, anxiety is very treatable and many people find relief.
Anxiety can be both a learned, protective response or a natural wiring of the brain. When treating anxiety, I employ approaches that are rooted in neurobiology to help you develop concrete coping skills that can help manage if not eliminate symptoms. You can learn to identify your triggers, thoughts patterns, and somatic experiences, develop a self-care routine, and other coping strategies.
