How I can help
Eating disorders are complex issues that affect people of all shapes and sizes. They are also one of the most lethal mental disorders. That is why it is so important to seek treatment as soon as possible.
Body image issues may or may not accompany eating disorder issues. We live in a culture obsessed with body sizes. It makes us believe that the size of someone’s body is a reflection of their character. It can be hard to untangle those issues. This is why so many people spend frantic efforts trying to force their bodies into submission.
I am here to help you gain confidence in yourself again. Imagine being able to show up in your life fully present as your authentic self, unafraid to be seen. What will you be doing when you stop diet culture from holding you back?
When treating eating disorders I apply evidence-based practice principles and coordinate care as needed with other professionals (with your permission), such as primary care doctors and dietitians.
What makes me different is that I provide in vivo exposure sessions that provide in-the-moment support and may look like a shopping trip together (food or clothing) or a meal at a restaurant.
I practice from the Intuitive Eating paradigm and help you regain your natural ability to nurture yourself. I believe in the Health at Every Size (HAES) model and I use it in my practice to help improve body image.
